The One Where The Prison Bake Had It’s First Pop Up Shop

The Prison Bake had an amazing time on May 20th at our FIRST pop-up shop. I remember signing up for this event a month back. I had just finished my 10k and was on a runner’s high. I saw the post on Facebook and thought, “what the heck, why not?” Fast forward a few days after that runners High wore off and I was shaking like a leaf! I went into this nervous because I’ve only been baking plant based for 6 months, and I am still trying to find my footing in all of this. I’m growing but it’s hard. There’s a lot of imposter syndrome to the point of sometimes cringing when someone calls me a baker (yes you read that correct). It was an overwhelming heap of emotions. But I was signed up and my mum and dad didn’t raise a quitter. So I strapped on my big girl panties and committed. I created a plan and followed through. I made sure to surround myself with people who would support and uplift me throughout this process. And let me tell you… IT TAKES A VILLAGE! And let me say THANK YOU TO MY VILLAGE. But we did it. And it was very successful!! I ended up achieving my only goal which was selling out of one item and we did that! S/o to the Carrot cake for being our Number 1 seller 🥕 I will say the journey was not easy. There were many sleepless nights, tears, frustration, fear, and anxiety leading into all of this. I will candidly say I lost my temper more times than I would’ve liked. But in the end the experience taught me so much about myself and the type of person I want to be. I have a lot of growing to do but this right here will be apart of that growth. This is my happy place. Seeing my food make people smile. Sharing that warmth with others. God has truly blessed me to live out my passion. And last but certainly not least, thank you every single person who supported me to this point.
